A Dress Made with Joy

This dress was made with care, colour, and a deep sense of joy. Created in the studio and brought to life by the client wearing it, it reflects both the process and the feeling behind the piece. Seeing it worn like this is what makes the work meaningful.

From Studio to Celebration

This piece was created in the Beckhalina studio for a client who wanted something that felt both elegant and true to her. From the first idea to the final fit, the focus was on comfort, movement, and making sure she felt confident wearing it.

A Fabric with Meaning

The dress is made using Super Wax cotton from the Democratic Republic of Congo, sourced from Utexafrica. Known for its quality and durability, the fabric is soft on the skin and carries a strong cultural identity through its bold pattern and colour.

Designed to Move

Every part of the garment was shaped with movement in mind. The flow of the fabric, the way it sits on the body, and how it moves as she walks all play a part in how the piece feels when worn.

Seeing It Come to Life

After receiving the finished outfit, the client shared the videos below with me. Seeing her wear the piece, move in it, and enjoy it in her own space is always a special moment. It’s where the work leaves the studio and becomes part of someone’s life.

Pieces like this are not made for one day only. The quality of the fabric and the way it is constructed means it can be worn again for different occasions, from celebrations to more relaxed moments, always carrying the same feeling.
